Soon After the horrific events at One Pulse in Orlando Fl, I entered an Artist in residence during the summer of 2016 committed to complete a body of work. I felt the need to include the 49 victims of the One Pulse Massacre in Orlando Fl, as a means to cope and remember them. Having family members in the LGBTQ community in Orlando made the fear real. As these portraits hang on the wall I invite you to think about how desensitized we have become to gun violence in this country. Have you grown accustomed to repeated violent acts? Have we as a society Adapted to Gun Violence as the new norm?
